Anything Nice to Say: Alice in Wonderland

Often considered part of Disney’s attempts to make live action films out of their animated classics, Alice in Wonderland was handed over to Tim Burton for his interpretation. Travel down the rabbit hole with us as we try to find anything nice to say about Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

Two Authors Talking: Brooke Fossey

Brooke Fossey, author of The Big Finish, talks about her writing routine with kids in the house, building a fictional world from a realistic inspiration, and what, exactly, an ironing movie is.

Anything Nice to Say: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Nicholas Cage stars as a centuries old sorcerer trying to wipe out the last of Morgan le Fey’s followers in an action comedy that’s loosely based on an animated short from the Fantasia anthology. None of that belongs in the same sentence together.

Anything Nice to Say: Hulk (2003)

It was a dark time. Before Robert Downey, Jr. took his place as Iron Man, Universal tried to bring us the hero we wanted. The Jolly Green Giant.

Of course, I’m talking about Ang Lee’s Hulk. Despite an amazing cast, 2003’s Hulk was derided by critics. To this day, Marvel pretends it never happened. Let’s see if we can find anything nice to say.

Anything Nice to Say: The Wolfman (2010)

Before the idea of a Dark Universe was birthed, Universal wanted to create an updated version of 1941’s The Wolf Man to bring modern make-up and visual effects to the character. Benicio Del Toro, a huge fan of the original signed on to produce as well as star in the lead role.

Despite Oscar award worthy effects, the film was not received well. We try to find anything nice to say about 2010’s The Wolfman.
